RODE AND SCHWARTZ HAD A BOOTH VERY CLOSE TO OURS AT THE AES SHOW AND ON THE LAST DAY WE WERE THERE THEY WERE KIND ENOUGH TO RUN SOME FREQUENCY RESPONSE TESTS ON THE X73 AND THE NEVE 1073. THESE TESTS WERE RUN WITHIN A TEN MINUTE PERIOD (BECAUSE WE HAD TO PACK UP) AND SO LEVEL MATCHING AND SUCH ARE NOT PRECISE.THESE TESTS WERE DONE QUITE INFORMALLY AND ARE PRESENTED AS SUCH. ALSO, SINCE WE FINISHED THE PROTOTYPE THE NIGHT BEFORE THE SHOW, AND DID NOT HAVE A COUPLE OF THE TERMINATION CAPS THAT ARE NORMALLY PUT ACROSS THE SECONDARY OF THE INPUT TRANSFORMERS, THE UNITS MEASURED SLIGHTLY DIFFERENTLY ON THE HIGH END. WE HAVE SINCE PUT IN THOSE CAPS AND COMPARED THE UNITS AND FOUND THEIR RESPONSES TO BE MUCH CLOSER WITH THE TERMINATION CAPS ADDED.

THE BELOW TEST IS WITH THE EQ ENGAGED ON BOTH UNITS AND SET AT 360HZ WITH BOTH ALL THE WAY UP. THE VINTECH IS IN YELLOW AND THE NEVE IS IN GREEN. 

THE FOLLOWING TEST IS WITH BOTH UNITS TURNED ALL THE WAY UP ON THE LOW AND HIGH SHELVING. I'M NOT SURE WHAT FREQUENCY WE USED FOR THE LOW SHELVING, BUT YOU CAN SEE AGAIN THAT THE CURVES ARE IDENTICAL. THE VINTECH HIGHS ARE A LITTLE HOTTER .

THE BELOW TEST IS WITH BOTH UNITS SET AT 4800HZ AND TURNED ALL THE WAY UP. AGAIN VINTECH IS YELLOW AND NEVE IS GREEN.

THE BELOW TEST IS WITH BOTH LOW FREQUENCY SHELVINGS SET AT 110HZ AND TURNED ALL THE WAY UP.

THE BELOW TEST IS WITH BOTH UNITS SET AT 1.6K AND TURNED ALL THE WAY UP. EVEN THOUGH THE HIGH SHELVINGS ARE NOT MATCHED, ONE CAN SEE THAT THE CURVES FOR 1.6K ARE THE SAME.
